“At IKEA, we love furniture so much that we take it back!

Looking to part with your old IKEA furniture? If it’s still in good condition, give it a second life and let us find someone who needs it.

Follow the steps below to obtain an estimate of your furniture’s buy-back value. Then bring your assembled IKEA furniture, together with your estimate, to your preferred IKEA store.

An IKEA co-worker will assess the furniture in person, then give you the final agreed value as an IKEA refund card.

Your furniture will then be resold to a new home via our AS-IS department.”

“From pre-loved to re-loved: we’re giving IKEA furniture a second life
A circular economy starts with a BILLY bookcase (or INGO table, or NORRARYD chair)
Every year, millions of pieces of secondhand furniture go to waste. That’s why we’re buying back used IKEA furniture, to give chairs, shelves or chests of drawers as many lives as possible.

IKEA Second Life
With our buy back and resell service it’s never been easier to re-use, recycle and reduce. Simply fill out a form online to get a quote on your old IKEA furniture. Then bring it to your nearest IKEA store where one of our co-workers will check its condition and confirm the final valuation. In return, you get IKEA credit to spend on something you need or love.

Did you know?
In 2019, IKEA gave 47 million recovered products a second life.

Better homes and a better world
When we look to improve our homes, we all need to consider how to reduce our impact on the planet. Does a piece of furniture really need replacing? Could it be given a second life? Our buy back and resell service is one of the ways we are making it easier and more affordable to live more sustainably.

Fully circular by 2030
We’re committed to being a fully circular business by 2030. To reach this goal, we create products that can be used and re-used for many years to come, right up until it’s time to recycle them and start again.”
